Anzac Day

Lest We Forget

ANZAC Day is very significant at Tyabb Railway Station Primary School. Our founding principal, Gordon McLean, served in WW1 and we have several students with parents serving in our military, highlighting the importance of the day for our community. Each year, our Year 6 leaders guide us through a moving ceremony filled with reflection, poetry and music. The school community then follow ‘our’ piper, Steve Iverson, to the local cenotaph where we lay flowers and hold a minute’s silence in what has become a very moving yearly tradition for our school.
